Sustainable Consumption and Production
Prioritizing Supply Chains: http://www.truthstudio.com/viz_2012_supply_chain_prioritization.html
This infographic displys the intersection of supply chains and (environmental) impacts. This is a summary of what our workshop participant Jason Pearson learned from developing the economy map. The PDF version with notes is at: http://www.truthstudio.com/content/US_Supply_Chain_Impacts_v02.pdf
Purchasing in the US: http://www.truthstudio.com/viz_2013_purchasers_in_us.html
This provides gives a good overview of the consumption side and where US consumption dollars are spent. Notably, consumer goods--the focus of many sustainable consumption efforts--together are estimated to represent only 20% of total household expenditures and only 20% of total GHG emissions. This suggests that sustainable consumption efforts might arguably be better targeted at non-goods categories of household purchasing, such as electricity, fuel, food, and other key services.
